Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach responds to comments and validates responder input. At least that is what I noticed in her recent Techlearning post. She took the time to consider all of the conjecture, including my own, and she fashioned reflective responses. She is passionate about the topic, creating successful virtual communities, and she actually has some answers.
Virtual Communities as a Canvas of Educational Reform
“How do we promote the knowledge, skills and sense of urgency for 21st Century are willing to change – to risk change – to meet the obvious need for better alignment teaching and learning among all teachers in our schools? How do we come to the place we between “school as we know it” and the needs of 21st Century learners? ”

blog post at the Techlearning Blog.
Her answers come from her own personal experience and not simply rhetoric about what might work in an ideal setting. Tell her about your own experiences with virtual communities in education. Seek her advise. I think she enjoys a challenge.

When Sheryl came out to NZ earlier this year her passion and knowledge about the change processes needed in schools was evident for all who were fortunate enough to hear her speak in real time and then more recently in our virtual Time4OnLine conference as keynote speaker.
She shares herself both personally and professionally.
